Salmi Poulet Recipe

This is how I prepare my Chicken Salmi, and believes me it is really really delicious. It's so flavorful that you can eat it with just a simple Basmati. Toss everything together.

 

Ingredients for Salmi Poulet:

700g Chicken

Marinate chicken with:
3 tsp Garlic (grated)
½ tsp Ginger (grated)
2 tbsp Onions (grated)
½ tsp Salt
4 pinches Pepper Powder
4 pinches Cinnamon Powder
4 pinches Cloves Powder
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
100ml Red Wine

Other Ingredients:

100ml Red Wine
250g Tomatoes
30g Onions
20g Garlic
5g Ginger
5 Cloves
3 Dry Chili (adjust to your taste)
4-5 Curry Leaves
2 Bay Leaves
1 Cinnamon Stick (around 4cm)
10g Onions (sliced)
1tbsp chopped Coriander and/or 1tbsp chopped Parsley
Salt
Pepper
Sugar
Oil

 

How to Prepare the Salmi Poulet:

1. Marinate the chicken for around 2 hours with the stated ingredients.

 

2. Combine the tomatoes, 30 g onions, garlic, ginger, cloves, and dried chile in a blender. Set aside for now.

 

3. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and add the curry leaves, allowing them to sear for a few seconds.

 

4. In a separate bowl, combine the bay leaves, onions, and cinnamon sticks. Toss everything together.

 

5. Toss in the tomato paste, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp pepper, and 1 tsp sugar. Cook for 2 minutes with the lid on.

 

6. Toss in the marinated chicken and 100ml of red wine. Mix. Cook for 45 minutes on low heat, covered.

 

7. If you want the Chicken Salmi to be thicker after 45 minutes, cover and cook for a few more minutes. I increased the cooking time by 5 minutes.

 

8. Serve with chopped coriander or parsley as a garnish.
