When I serve appetizers, I like them to be bold, spicy, and flavorful so that people are looking forward to the main course. Appetizers from India are ideal for this. It's fairly uncommon for an Indian dish to contain a dozen different spices.

Even if you don't like cabbage, you could like these because the onion and spices help to conceal the cabbage's natural bitterness.

3. Vegetable Samosas

These deep-fried dumplings are a staple of Indian cuisine, though the fillings vary widely.
Only potatoes, peas, onions, chilies, and other herbs and spices are used in this vegetarian-friendly dish.
Despite their diminutive size, they're excellent and surprisingly full.

Another vegetarian-friendly meal that is one of India's most popular street delicacies.

They have a wonderful aroma and a much better flavor.

These veggie kababs are not to be confused with veggie kebabs, as they are completely different.
These kababs resemble fried green tomatoes in look, texture, and consistency, but they can be baked for a slightly healthier option.
They're also easy to create, vegetarian-friendly, and nutritious.

6. Lentil Fritters (Masala Vada)

These lentil fritters are delicious, but that isn't why I enjoy preparing them.
They're fun to make since they're so gorgeous when they're done. They're really vibrant!
These lentil fritters are wrapped in spices and other flavorful ingredients, and the word masala means 'a variety of spices.'
There are red onions, red chilis, chili flakes, curry powder, salt, coriander, and fennel seeds in addition to the lentils.

If there's one thing I've learned from experimenting with Indian dishes, it's that anything can be deep-fried. And yes, cauliflower is included.
You'll coat your cauliflower florets and fried them until they're crispy for this delicious snack.
You'll then season them with a variety of robust spices and a dollop of yogurt.
Your kitchen should be smelling fantastic at this time.
Serve them right away after they've been seasoned. If you leave them to cool for too long, they will lose their crispiness.

10. Idli Fry

These delectable fries only require two ingredients: day-old idli and your choice of an Indian spice mixture/seasoning, aside from salt for flavor and oil for frying. (Bhaji masala is my favorite.)
Despite the fact that they aren't made with potatoes, I refer to them as "French fries for people who despise French fries."
They're quite good, and I've yet to meet someone who doesn't enjoy them.

11. Paneer Pakora

Paneer pakoras are delectable fried cheesy squares.
You may need to go to an ethnic store (or Amazon) to get a few of the components, but once you have them, you can make these in about 15 minutes!
They're finest served green or red chili chutney.

12. Onion Fritters (Pakoda)

Onion fritters are one of my favorite snacks. Blooming Onions or Awesome Blossoms have a herbier, spicier flavor.
They're also simple and quick to manufacture, requiring less than half an hour to complete.

For a little more yumminess, top with a dollop of heavy whipping cream.
